circa 2005 at a friend’s party; balmy night, corona’s with lime, seared & smoky bbq, blonde hair, Otis Redding on the stereo, strawberry pavlova, games of boggle, home-made icy poles, cradling babies, hide & seek, hyper puppies, lots of laughter. good times.
This song reminds me of 1995; the year my cousin Clinton lived with us when we were in year 11 at high school. We’d spend the afternoons playing ‘ball down at the College, come home to do our homework and hang out listening to Ice Cube.
Even though I’ve posted today already, I can’t pass up an opportunity for a Throwback Thursday! Especially when it’s Ferris!
“Mr Rooney….Ed….you’re a beautiful man. Thankyou for your warmth and compassion.”
– Sloane to Rooney
“Ladies and gentlemen, you’re such a wonderful crowd, we’d like to play a little tune for you. It’s one of my personal favorites and I’d like to dedicate it to a young man who doesn’t think he’s seen anything good today – Cameron Frye, this one’s for you.”
– Ferris to NYC
“Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?” “My best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it it’s pretty serious.” “Thankyou Simone.” “No problem whatsoever!”
I think it’s time to go re-watch Ferris for the millionth time!
