let the award season begin | best of Golden Globes 2012

I love watching the Awards Red Carpet!

Lea Michele in Marchesa

OMG – Lea Michele looks AMAZING! Seriously though, she needs a new pose because there are a million of her with the hand on the hips! The dress had beautiful metal sequins for the bottom half. To die!

Claire Danes in J. Mendel

She won Best Actress in a Drama for (one of my fave series) Homeland in this monochromatic dream! She always looks good!

Jessica Biel in Elie Saab

Oh wow! She could wear it to her own wedding (if she ever marries JT) but it’s just soooooo beautiful! Wistful and vintage but with a hint of sexiness (see her little boyleg underwear?) with that deep lace back. Beautiful!

Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace

Simply, I love her.
She looks stunning and oozes old hollywood glamour.

Rooney Mara in Nina Ricci

I love all the black that Rooney Mara is wearing for her events lately. True to form, this Nina Ricci dress is beautifully simple and elegantly structured with an almost gothic edge.

Salma Hayek in Gucci

Dame Salma Hayek (recently knighted by the French) looked amazing in this Gucci dress. When Ryan Seacrest was interviewing her, she just looked like a total goddess! Smokin’!

Charlize Theron in Dior

Seriously, what hope to the rest of us have??? Charlize would look good in a burlap sack covered in feathers. She is gorgeous in this blush gown by Dior. Love the headpiece too!

Tilda Swinton in Haider Ackermann

Tilda Swinton always takes risks when it comes to fashion. She looks amazing (and futuristic) in this modern skirtsuit. I love it!

Shailene Woodley in Marchesa

It was Shailene Woodley’s first attendance at the Golden Globes. I want this dress. When she was talking to Ryan Seacrest you could see that its a thin sheer layer of fine tulle over delicate lace detail. Sooooo beautiful!

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

Madonna in Reem Acra

I am in shock….Madonna wearing something beautiful and stunning without looking like ‘mutton dressed as lamb’….The Golden Globe winner (for Best Song in a Feature Film) looked appropriately gorgeous while still keeping her Madonna-style with a right-hand leather glove!

Morena Baccarin in Georges Chakra

I think Morena (star of “V” TV series and Homeland) is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood with one of the best bodies. She looks amazing.

Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang

Sofia Vergara always wears Vera Wang and she always looks stunning. She is a latin goddess; I could turn for her! She’s only in honourable mentions because she has a formula and rarely strays from it…

Nicole Richie in Julien Macdonald

I love everything this girl wears! Her hair looks amazing.
She said the dress was very heavy but really comfortable because of all the bias cuts.

Viola Davis in Pucci

This woman knows how to work colour! Damn! She looks amazing in this burgundy one shoulder chiffon gown by Emilio Pucci.

Nicole Kidman in Versace

She looks like a statuesque Egyptian princess. It’s been a while since I’ve like her red carpet looks. Here she looks stunning. And I love the accessories!

Reece Witherspoon in Zac Posen

At first I thought this dress was boring, but then I saw the structured and form-fitting detail and the colour….a dark blue-based blood red. Reece looks so young & fresh!

  1. Agree mostly, but Lea Michele? You must be blinded by Glee-love. She looks like Cher but not in a good way (if there is a good way to look like Cher). Her expressions are always a little too cat-that-ate-the-cream.
