mr tulk | melbourne cafe review

Three weeks ago today I was eating breakfast with 5 of my favourite people in a little cafe at the bottom of the majestic Victorian State Library in the state’s capital.

Mr Tulk cafe was recommended to us by the concierge at our hotel and we were happy to his advice.

This is a trendy little cafe; there are wooden tables with bench seats and large umbrellas outside, but it’s too cold so we sit indoors where there is a large communal table in the raised main dining area, surrounded by individual wooden tables and chairs.

We ordered;

Coffee of course (and Jay & Ian finally got their breakfast Bloody Mary)!

coffee & bloody marys!

We ate;

Mandy had muesli with rhubarb compote
Jay, Janine, Ian & Nath had poached eggs with spinach and corned beef hash
I had avocado on toast with spinach and bacon

We finish with a winter walk in the sun around the library to view the statue of St George slaying the dragon.
