An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane, such as long life or recovery from illness or injury.

Who are we to say that it’s true or not…We can only hope!

  1. Well I haven’t yet made 1000 but after Sheela taught me how to do them when we went to Melbourne together, I’ve got up to about 50 in a glass bowl in my flat…only another 950 to make 🙂

We even had the guy sitting next to us on the plane getting interested!

I really want to read Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. And I want to go to the Rockafeller Centre in NYC where each year they have a whole Christmas tree of origami, mostly paper cranes!
