things i heart about Sydney

  • the harbour – brilliant, blue and beautiful
  • the bridge – our beloved coathanger
  • having a drink at the Opera Bar on a clear night – the city lights at night take my breath away
  • walking around The Rocks markets
  • Clover Moore
  • Clover’s love of fireworks – pretty much every weekend, and I can see & hear them from my apartment

  • the Glebe Harbour Walk
  • bike riding around Glebe & Pyrmont Bay
  • the closeness of living right near the city
  • the abundance of good quality & inventive food
  • the fact that there is more to chose from than just pizza, Thai & Chinese (eg: Himalayan, Japanese, African, Lebanese, French & Italian)
  • mmmm, good coffee (Morso, Cafessimo)
  • shopping in Pitt St Mall and QVB
  • public transport is so good; buses and lightrail
  • all the parks near my place; open, green and beautiful old trees
  • Sydney Festival every year
  • the Symphony in the Domain – my favourite night of the year – orchestra under the stars
  • outdoor movies in the park (Centennial Park, Mrs Macquaries Chair & North Sydney Oval)
  • Glebe Point Road; pubs, cafes, restaurants and book stores
  • the plethora of Japanese food
  • weekly farmers markets
  • having good friends live close by
  • having cousins live near by
  • the ability to shop late at night
  • being able to get a coffee anywhere, anytime
  • Newtown/Glebe – I love a suburb that embraces hippies, emos, punks, grungies, homies, fashionistas & business types all in its eclectic melting pot
  •  having an international airport
  • Chinatown
  • little Italy (Leichhardt)
  • Dendy
  • Sydney Theatre Co
  • seeing artists in the Opera House
