Be here. In this moment.
It’s something I constantly have to remind myself, as my mind flits from one thing to another a thousand miles an hour.
We can do anything but we can’t do everything is a meaningful piece of advice from David Allen.
These days we’re multitasking like crazy. We have smart phones to take our work home with us, we Facebook to keep in-touch/stalk our friends & upload every minute detail of our lives. We Tweet and blog just about everything and anything (guilty!!!) and we’re trying to fit more into our days.
It’s important to take a step back and just be absorbed in the moment; whatever it is just let yourself sink into it without your mind racing ahead. Allow yourself time to pause and reflect. Whether it’s just a quiet cup of tea alone, a stolen moment amidst the frantic, an hour reading a book or magazine, a weekly pilates class or an outdoor walk without your phone/iPod, just make sure you have cognizant time purely for yourself.
We only have one life and we need to ensure we’re joyously & indulgently aware of it!
Seize the day and live in the moment. [via]
Happy Wednesday!
